Fight or Flight

Everyone’s eyes glued on the last bay doors, waiting for the enemy to approach. “Ark use your scan.” Leo said. I looked at my right arm, on it was a special gadget with a few buttons. As I pressed one of the buttons a signal beamed off my helmet scanning the whole building and some of the outside. You could see the the outline of the enemies and some weird items set up in the hallway. Now with the enemy’s location now known Ark started to push forward. “Wait Ark that’s a Caustic right there and those things that aren’t people are his traps. They ignore shield and do straight health damage, but the longer you stay in it the more damage it does. We will have to wait for them to push and it wont be much longer.” Remi said. Ark slowly moved back from the door but it was to late the enemy team had opened the doors and all took aim at Ark. With not enough time to turn and shoot Ark ran a fast he could back to his teammates. Only getting hit a few times he survived but his shield was broken. “Ark do you have any shield cells?” Leo asked. “Shield cells?” Ark said in confusions. “Hurry look through your inventory by accessing the hud in your visor.” Leo told him. Ark reached his hand up to his helmet and pressed the button on the side of it. A little screen popped up in front of him. On the screen it showed Arks inventory. In it was light ammo for his R-99, few grenades, and some syringes and shield cells. Ark used his hand to click on the shield cell and it appeared in his hand. “Now twist and pull on the top!” Leo yelled. Ark twisted and pulled on the top of the shield cell. Sparks started flying and hitting his body armor slowly repairing it. After a few seconds the power faded from the shield cell. Ark popped two of them to fully repair his shield. Now with Arks shield full he could help his team fight back, but their backs where against the wall. The enemy team had pushed them back to the last room with the portal in it while Ark was figuring out the controls. “Alright I think I got this.” Ark proclaimed. With two doors to come through to enter the front of the room Ark, Remi and Leo Guarded the doors. After a few second one set of the doors opened and a green grenade flew pass them. “Caustic ultimate! Push them now!” Leo yelled. The grenade hit the floor behind Arks team and exploded filling the room with toxic gas. The three of them got up an ran to the doors little did they know more traps awaited them. As Ark went through the left set of doors and Remi and Leo going through the right set of doors the team was now split. On Arks side was two enemy’s with guns at the ready instantly started firing at Ark. Ark ran down the hallway getting hit a few times. He pulled out an arc star and ran towards the wall. He jumped and put one foot on the pushing off the wall Ark lunged towards the enemy’s. With both enemy’s guns now empty and Ark only a few feet away from both of them threw his arc star. It stuck to one of the enemy’s! In the middle of the hallway was door on two the room between both hallways. Ark quickly opened and slid through the door with the ark star blowing up behind him. You could hear the sound of both of the enemy’s shield breaking. Ark turned around and poked his head back through the door. With both of the enemy’s with no shield and stunned Ark aimed down his sights and let his gun free. Ark first sprayed down the Caustic in front of him. With Caustic down it now was a one on one. Ark ran down the hall way back to the big bay doors and no one was their. That’s when Ark heard foot steps behind him. He quickly spun around but it was too late. Before he could even get a shot off Ark was downed. “I’m so sorry guys I only got one of them down…” Ark said to his team over the team radio. “No worries Ark we finished their Wraith. Leo should be there shortly to help you out.” Remi said back. “I’m about to turn down the hallway where is he?” Leo asked. “He’s behind the door in the portal room. I can hear him shielding up.” Ark replied. Leo came running from the front of the hallway, jumping over Ark he sprinted down the hall and tried to open the door. But Caustic was on the other side blocking the door. Leo picked his leg up and kicked the door. The first kick cracked the whole door. Leo backed up again and with one more kick the door shattered. With the Caustic in mid syringe Leo made quick work of him. The whole squad was down and Leo had killed the last member and with that eliminating the first team.
